Anxiety disorders
Every human being may feel anxious from time to time. It’s a normal emotion. For instance one may feel apprehensive facing a problem at work, before taking a test, or before making an important decision.
This is not an anxiety disorder. Anxiety disorders are a cluster of mental illnesses, and the distress they cause can restrain the individual from carrying on with life in a normal way.
For the people suffering an anxiety disorder worry and fear are persistent and upsetting, and sometimes disabling. But with treatment, many people can manage those feelings and live a satisfying life.
The cluster of anxiety disorder includes different conditions:
- Panic disorder
- Generalized anxiety disorder
- Social anxiety disorder
